Public Advisories

#1 Postby HurricaneJoe22 » Wed Jun 22, 2005 2:44 am

On the NHC site, I noticed for TD 2 that they don't post a public advisory. It says they do so only when land is threatened. Is this something new? Is it only for the E-Pac?

The NHC only issues public advisories for EPAC storms when they threaten land. Public advisories are always issued for Atlantic storms. This has been their practice for a while...

No that is the way it has always been in the Epac. Unless there is a real threat to land they do not issue Public advisories in the East Pac. Never have as for as I know. :D

If I remember correctly (and that's a big if) they only post advisories if
land is threatened or if the system becomes a major hurricane for
the shipping folks.
