Thats over the southwest quad. Normally the weakest of them all. This thing if that data is right is a tropical storm.

When were you at Sembach? I was TDY over there in 2001. It was a GREAT TDY.

I went to a course (METSAT) at Keesler in '94. My forecaster school class was the one of the last classes to go through before they moved the school to Keesler from Chanute.

Hmmm... I was at Sembach from March 2001 to March 2003. Where were you at Sembach or rather, what flight were you on?

I was there in January 2001...for about 3 weeks. I was on A flight...I think. It's been a while. I updated the maps for the hazards in that area. I got there and found out I had a buddy stationed there. You probably know him...he was a MSgt and did the weather for AFN. Remember him? I first met him on a TDY to Panama...when he was stationed at Howard AFB (what a sad closure that was...single man's paradise).

Ahh yeah... I was on C-flight, as a hazards forecaster. I know exact who you're talking about, though. I believe he made SMSgt.

That "eye" on satellite is not where they placed the center. Could just be an optical illusion.

Despite problems with
communications equipment...the crew has been able to phone in key
observations. Our thanks to the crew for responding on such short
notice and for their persistence in trying to get the data out.

Mike this is the answer to your question about why the data was slow. The above from discussion.

Yeah...I think he did. Yes..C-flight. I couldn't remember. I was there only TDY to help backfill while the space flight team went to Moron (or some place like that...). I did the low level winds, LLTurbc, ULTurbc, Icing...all that stuff. Did you eat at the wooden spoon? It was in the village. Great food.

Oh yeah -- the Wooden Spoon. Since I lived on-base in the dorms, every so often a bunch of us would walk down there. It was wonderful.
