No....I wouldn't say that....but I'm sure there was a large contingent of people there that had already spent $75 a ticket, and weren't willing to stand up for their principals.
I know it will please Chad if I let this subject die..so this will be my last post about it.
but...I must add just a couple more cents worth. I'm a diehard Country Music Fan, and have always liked some of the newer crossover artists like Shania, Faith Hill, and even the DC's. But...what comes with being a crossover artist is the undisputable fact that you now have an audience that is more likely to accept questionable behavior, outlandish behavior, and more fluff than substance. I thought Shania was the greatest until I saw her in concert, and lost all respect for her. She spent most of the show pandering to every super Mom or Super Dad there that would hold their child up for Shania to bring up on stage with her and parade around showing her "love" for children, yada yada yada. Then.....they put her on some kind of Egyptian type cart, and a bunch of slave looking handlers hoisted her over their heads and carried her around the stage floor perimeter while she blew kisses, giggled, and soaked in lustful gazes from all the men with sore rib cages. This...the same lady that moments earlier was auditioning for "Big Sister of the Year Award".
Maybe I'm in the minority in this Country, but I stand up for my principals, and as far as what I would have done if I was holding Dixie Chicks tickets? I would have traded them in for Marshall Tucker in a heartbeat.
I treat Music Artists the same way I treat a restaurant that provides bad service or bad food. I'm through with them, because there are plenty of other establishments out there.
