Has anyone had Lasik corrective eye surgery???

I am scheduled to have it on May 28th (if I don't chicken out) and would like to know anything you can tell me about it. Are you satisfied, would you do it again, how much pain involved???

My Wife had it done a couple of years ago, she would do it again, the results were fantastic, and there was no pain involved.

PS I'm sure they have perfected it even more in the 2 year time frame since she had it done.

I have several friends that have done it and they all love it. The only problem that any of them have reported is some blurry vision when driving at night.

While she was pregnant with our 2nd child, She said that she also had a hard time driving at night.

I have not had the surgery Bonnie, but I would LOVE to have it done. Be sure to let us know how it goes!

I battle to drive at night now. I cant see a thing when a car comes in my direction. I very rarely drive at night, after I nearly went off the road into a tree. It would be so great to just get rid of my glasses and contacts.

Same here Bron. I wear contacts 24/7 and have a lazy eye. I am a candidate for this surgery - I guess the might thing keeping me from doing it is the cost. Driving at night isn't too bad for me.

The cost is definantly the factor stopping me from going ahead and doing it. I would have it done back home though, all medical treatment (unless it is an emergency) my family and I will have done back in SA. It is loads cheaper there. Even wait to go back home for hubby to have the teeth fixed. :lol:

My husband had it last October. He drove back to the doctors (45 miles) by himself the next day. The only thing that bothered him was it felt like he had some sand in his eye that first day. He recommends it to everyone who asks about it.

I had the surgery a few years back. I felt no pain and have 20/20 vision. It felt great to throw away all those cleaning solutions and put the ole' seeing eyeglasses to pasture.

My insurance paid for it.

I don't believe I know anyone who has had corrective eye surgery. Good luck with whatever your decision is and with the procedure if you get it done.

My father had his cataracts removed in both eyes last a few weeks apart, in late 2001 and in early 2002. He can see much better, although he doesn't like driving too much.
