Question on Opinions of the June Tropical Weather Outlooks

#1 Postby DoctorHurricane2003 » Thu Jun 30, 2005 3:46 pm

Has anyone noticed how much activity the June TWOs have seen? It wasn't very often that the TWOs only said that no tc formation was expected.

What is everyone's thoughts on this in regards to the remainder of the season?

Unless we have an Andrew like event, i doubt 2005 will be as bad as 2004. We might have more named storms, but not as many landfalling Hurricanes. IF Charley's eye was a normal size, and IF it was moving as slowly as Frances, it might go down as one of the worst Hurricanes to hit Florida. I know....IF, IF...

Charley still went down as the 2nd worst ever to hit Florida (primarily because it got into the center of Orlando)

I've posted about this recently. I can't stress enough how thankful I am for the NHC being much more descriptive this year with their TWO's. They have mentioned just about every BLOB, even if it didn't have any chance at development. In years past we would have gotten that one liner. Again, Thanks NHC it is appreciated greatly by this poster!
