I think it started when Arlene formed.

We all know this forum is based on the Tropics so what ever action is out there, we will talk about. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's not that we're not patient, it's that we're celebrating the season!

The real Atlantic hurricane season began June 1st. I don't think it's smart to downplay June and July especially this year with the sst's as high as they are. JMHO.

Season

#6 Postby Tommedic » Sun Jul 03, 2005 7:45 am

Please remember Bertha that struck Carolinas. The Hurricane Season is from June 1 for a reason. We all understand that the peak is usually from August to October. But we don't have to be in peak of season for a major storm to develop and create havoc for a population, whether in Islands or on Coast. Just my humble opinion. Tom 8-)

I'd say the peak of the season starts mid-August and runs mid-October.

The statistical data and climatology support having the season from
June 1 to November 30.

Audrey, June 1957
Lenny, November 1999

It can happen anytime of year if conditions are favorable. We nearly had two Hurricanes in December of 2003!

I still remember staring at the find 2004 TWO, where OTTO was still alive
into December.

With these unusally warm SST's, the ATL might run a little longer into
December, granted, mostly fish storms.

Hopefully because it would suck to still have shudders up on Christmas Eve.

It could be a market for a new "windowless" home design, with only
one door, the quality of a bank vault.

Hey...I know! I'll manufacture the very first Xmas shudders! You can get them in the traditional Green and Red design, or Supreme model with battery operator lights around the perimeter. For an extra $10, you can add frosting to any of the two.
