Freeport....

Myself and AirForceMet live in Angleton...

If need be, pose a question to AFM here or even thru a PM about our chances. He is IMO one of the best here and is nothing but helpful..

It's people like you that'll be on the news after the next Charley because you didn't listen to the NHC and lost your home.

I do think that this will be a Lousiana/Miss system now.

Southerngale, I'd take it a step further.

#1) Always listen to the NHC for general information

#2) For specific details on your area, including property protection, and
life and death decisions, listen to your local officials!!!!!

While there are numerous posters on storm2k that provide great
information, there are some that provide misleading information.
That is not a risk worth taking!

I don't think anyone needs ot apologize to you. It is irresponsible to say any area is safe until much closer to landfall when all chances of turn are rulled out. If I thought that way I would have not even watched since this was supposed to be a TX storm. Things can change rapidly and EVERYONE in the GOM needs to watch. There have been many times when a storm changed direction. I really don't TX has much of a chance but only mother nature or maybe God knows for sure.

Oh I know. Let anyone else be arrogant but try to stay above the fray. FWIW, as a former hardcore rocker myself, being a punk is kind of a good thing. But you don't want to get in trouble with the powers that be.
