Yes it develops
Landfall just SW of Freeport TX moving NNW to N
95 mph

Guess again.... :P

Why guess again? Don't you like a Hurricane affecting your home?LOL!!!! I wish I didn't have to guess like that!!! I don't like it either, but unless things change a lot it doesn't appear to be too far off, unfortunately.

I hope TD#3 speeds up some because it will then have less time over water and less development time. Unfortunately current progs put it at 80mph at landfall on Thursday around noon somewhere on the upper TX coast. AS bad as we need the rain, I do not want the wind!!!

I want one to come her, its been awhile since we have seen any excitement...since alicia, and I do remember that one, besides, my grown kids need to experience this just as they experienced snow on christmas eve. I dont mean to get anyone upset, so dont fuss at me.

My guesses

#85 Postby jimvb » Sun Jul 03, 2005 4:58 pm

1. Does it develop? Yes
2. If so, where does it go? near Beaumont, TX
3. How strong is it? 90 mph
4. Also: Gasoline at $2.30 a gallon in southern VA to $2.75 a gallon in CA

I also expect the financial markets will start to have the jitters when they see the storm strengthen and approach the Gulf Coast.

Oh, and I wouldn't be surprised if the track moves a little east.

Yeah, given this is only advisory #1, and there's still a lot of water to cover, I'll agree with your viewpoint on the possibility of a more easterly landfall... And a more easterly track might also take it across some of those VERY warm eddies in the central gulf...

And thanks for the congrats!!

Kelly, is it considered "Beaumont" all the way to the coast? It looks like Beaumont is almost as far from the coast as Houston. Would landfall actually be Port Arthur?

I might have underestimated the strength at landfall

Port Arthur or Sabine Pass. The city limits do run pretty far south though and according to maps and just driving it, Beaumont is a decent bit closer to the coast than Houston.
