This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Everyone has been thinking Cindy, but that low east of Barbados sure does look impressive. Could become a storm before TD 3

It would go to show why we need to call these things by the official names. I've seen way too many people talking about Cindy already before it's named...I personally think Cindy will be the GoM storm after recon this evening as they won't have the data to upgrade the other, but it could well have been the other way round and a lot fo people would have had egg on their face, and it makes the whole board look amateur. I'll continue to call them TD.03 and 97L until they are officially rupgraded, and I wish other people would too....

I agree. We have asked everyone to do this.

I agree with that. I come back to the board after a little whild and see "cindy" and think--ok so we have a TS. It is a bit confusing at first.

It is indeed paramount for sanity's sake that people call each
system by it's official name.

Right now, there are NO named systems, we have TD3 in the GOM,
and the Invest 97L in antillies. That's it.
