23.2/88.7 Seems to be new LLC--Why lock the NHC update
I noticed that Floydbuster's post re: new llc forming was locked...and it's quickly dropping down the page...This seems like VERY important info and locking it doesn't seem like the best idea...unless there is a good reason.
anyway...I think the LLC will be located around 23.2/88.7

An idea...when "breaking news" gets buried as a reponse in an old topic...and then someone else starts a new thread with the "breaking news" as the subject...why not move the new post to the old thread and rename the old thread with the breaking news...that way you get the best of both worlds and the info is not lost...just a thought.

Just .02, but perhaps it might be helpful to go ahead and add the previously-posted link to all locked threads so all members may be aware of where to otherwise find the information and provide input on the topic if desired. In most cases, the mods do add the link (thanks!!), but sometimes they don't.....

But the original tropical update posted wasn't buried in a thread somewhere, it was used to start a new thread--first named as the rather nondescriptive "update" (probably why most people missed it) and now named "update 12:30 CDT on TD3" It's the one kevin mentions and Rainband links to above.

That's an even better idea...and probably quicker...anytime a "duplicate" thread is locked, please give the link in the locked thread directing the viewer to the existing thread...
I think it's always a good idea to post the reason for "locking" a thread...otherwise the poster could think they did something wrong (people always jump to wrong conclusions...remember the "BANNED IP" episode yesterday)

With all due respect. I know my job and a pm was sent. A lot goes on behind the scenes and we do follow a protocol.rockyman wrote:That's an even better idea...and probably quicker...anytime a "duplicate" thread is locked, please give the link in the locked thread directing the viewer to the existing thread...

didn't mean to step on any toes...and I wasn't aiming my comments at anyone in particular...I just think that when a thread is locked with no public explanation, it can lead to confusion...it made me think that maybe the info was inaccurate or bogus...if I didn't know Floydbuster as being an excellent, honest poster, I would have really questioned the veracity of the post...If the "protocol" doesn't allow for an explanation on the locking of a thread, maybe the thread should just be removed altogether...just my opinion...and, again, I'm not trying to be horsey...please don't take me the wrong way.
