who suggested collocation of tlhe LLC and MLC north of the yucatan. kudos all, looks like you were on the $$

Thanks...but I think another MLC is getting yanked north. There is too much directional shear over the system. The low levels want to go WNW and the mid wants to go NNW. Every time it gets a little stacked...the mid level energy gets yanked out of it. We'll have to wait until the steering flow is a little more uniform from bottom to top before this thing is any more than a weak TD. That being said...it should follow a track like the GFS is hinting at...and move more WNW for a while. THe moisture is headed NNW and N...but the low level feature will track more WNW with the flow. That is what the NHC was hinting at this morning at 4am.
