local met

 One of the local mets in Orlando showed the NOGAPS model along with the stations hurricane model. He says that the models show that Dennis will shift more east after leaving Cuba.

The models showed Dennis right on top of Punta Gorda.

This can't happen right?

I think anything can happen at this point. Nobody knows where it's going yet, except through the Caribbean and likely affecting the folks there.

It was Tom Terry on Wftv channel 9.

He predicted Charley's turn before the NHC did, so I do trust him. My apartment was damaged by Charley and Francis and Jeanne, so I could go without a storm for awhile.

He is the one I watch to. I missed him tonite. That is interesting that he would do that when none of the models are showing that.

The NOGAPS model has it on top of the west cost near Punta Gorda too.

I hate waiting, if its coming here I would like it to happen soon.

Me too... as long as it passes before the Duran Duran concert in Orlando on 7/18!

I Guess the station (Channel 9) has their own "in house" models that they "code" (quotes of Tom Terry).

He mentioned that the in house models are right on with Cindy and that the NHC was too far west with her track. This "In House" model is what goes farther east than the NHC and Global Models.

tom terry has been more accurate than the NHC. With Frances, Charley, Ivan, and Cindy...I don't know if the guy has a crystal ball, or sold his soul to the weather gods. But whatever model he is using is pretty darn accurate.

All depends on the high. Our Local Dennis philips said we should know by Thursday if we have to be concerned. He said it could turn N and Then NE and hit us/Florida or hit from the Panhandle to Texas. It's too early to tell.
