Come on over to SE Texas - it was 80 degrees this morning - getting ready for work. There is no rain in the forecast and its only going to get hotter.
Can we say Summer is here.

No thank you....I've got enough heat and humidity to bottle and sell....hmmm...is it like wine and gets better with age?......would it be good carbonated?....could it be labled anit-aging and sold for $39.99 a bottle?

Bron -you have no A/C and you live in Florida. I don't like turning my A/C on until June 1st. The last two years - I have broken down and turn it on around Memorial Day.
I just hate paying them high-dollar electric bills.
We are sleeping with the windows open and ceiling fans at night and its rather nice....give it three more weeks and it won't - LOL.

Have you ever tried baking stuff in the oven with the inside temp of your house being over 90f! Not fun.
We have a small window unit in our living room which we turn on at night to cool our bedroom as well. I just make my son sleep on our floor during summer, as the a\c does not cool his room or the kitchen. The poor unit battles to cool just 2 rooms. In the middle of summer it really is totally ineffective. Oh well the joys of living in the sunshine state

Ticka, I'll take some of that heat up here. I am stuck at 52 degrees, and I can't stand it. We had a sunny day last week and I took the day off to enjoy the sun. After about half the day, I realized it had probably been months since I had been out in the sun, and it was nice laying in the hammock, watching the kids and the hens run around the yard.

The Southeastern United States has more of an immient threat of severe weather this afternoon than the Midwest.
The temperature is all the way up to 95 degrees here!
Most houses in Florida have large air conditioning units that most use whenever it gets above 85 or so. The electric bill isn't as bad as in the New England area because there is no oil for heating and we don't use gas for cooking.

Yep, ticka, LoL, you can keep those warm and muggy conditions!
It got really nasty here about 5am....weather radio bolted me out
of bed with a Tornado Warning for northern Lawrence County -
yikes - that's ME! I could hear the hail hitting the carport, but,
no way was I gonna get up out of the Laundry room (in the lower
portion of the house) to see how big it was! :o It flooded around
these parts - the rain came down so feirce and fast, there were
houses standing in water as if they were built in the middle of
a river...my house was ok, but, the veg garden, out back, looked
like a water garden! I drove to work in the second Tornado
Warning...fast as I could, up into Maury county where I work,
and, out of harm's way. Maury was flooded, too, btw...there is
a creek behind a field by our office building...the creek covered
the field as if we were situated next to a river...LoL, I watched
stuff float by, all day long...we kept expecting to see, oh, maybe
a cow floating downstream...
All the water has receded from over
the creek and river banks, but the tributaries themselves are still
running high. We really don't need another round of those storms,
anytime soon!
