Had to switch to a frozen Wild Cherry Pepsi [tm] due to wanting to see more than the 10mph breezes currently plaguing Metairie :)

Yep, they sure are. It's been raining all day, but calm. Just in the last 30 minutes, it's picked up. I'd guess out of the east at 10, gust to 20 at most. Still relatively calm though. News reports from Venice show pretty strong sustained winds... at least 30mph with higher gusts from what I could tell.

We had worse weather Sat. and Sun. in Lakeview. But we are getting steady rain at a rate of about .01" per hour right now. :D

Bet it is. Still trying to decide if I should pick anything up. Guess I should err on the side of caution. And head to Sav-A-Center.

Bizarre orange glow at sunset as per ordinary tropical influence (sometimes the sky turns green or yellow). Rain falling steadily and sustained into the 10-15 range. Won't be long now.

Was wondering about that. Very nice. We can just pause it right here and fast forward through the rest, no?

Would you believe there are people right now shooting firecrackers?

BTW, this is over the house across the street. Image

Is this the "weird orangey glow" you were talking about Steve?

There was even a rainbow briefly but I discarded that picture as it came out like crap.
