Nerves definitely showing here in the Peninsula

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Tue Jul 05, 2005 8:02 pm

Well.. after getting 3 hurricanes last year... it's understandable lol..

But as Wal Mart store 2881's official "Weather Nerd".. I think this will be a long week for me lol..

I have been hearing all day "how's the storm".. lol.. even in our weekly Risk Control Meeting today.. we had a special discussion directed at Dennis.. and in the event an emergency code is called while the store is open, every 1 of the RCT members has been given a specific job.. I'm in charge of helping lead fellow associates to the center of the store.. {our safe spot}..

That is of course if they don't close the store 1st lol..

Anyway.. You can tell there is anxiety here.. and lots of it.. I may even go on a "canned goods" run before the weekend lol.. I don't have too many of them right now..

I don't think we'll see much out of this, maybe some squalls. But this is ONLY early July. I don't want to know what it will be like come August/September.

I think the fact that it is only July is what has everyone around here so nervous.. Plus 3 hurricanes last year were no help lol

You are implying that you are counting Dennis out for FL. I wouldn't be too sure. Nobody thought Charley would impact the West Coast let alone SW FL...Dennis is looking alot like Charley/Ivan.

You may be right Boca..

Too many people are counting Dennis the Menace out lol.. The threat to Florida is real just as a threat to Texas or Mexico or whatever..

Until this thing makes landfall and dies.. It's anyone's storm..

You couldn't be any more right on that statement John. Everyone in the Gulf area needs to watch Dennis very closely until he makes up his mind where he is going...

Florida willl be safer if Cindy doesn't Dilly Dally around in the southeast and leave a weakness in the forecast ridge.
The short wave might not pull Cindy NE out of the way in time leaving a Charley sreering scenario for Florida.
