Does a 2002 Lili-like track seem reasonable to anyone? Are the synoptic set-ups similar?

My prediction:

Barataria Bay south of Houma, LA

I'll take a stab. Although I haven't looked at any wv loops or such, based on what I'm reading on the NWS Jackson, MS discussion, I'll say somewhere between the Central Louisiana coast and Pensacola Fl. (KJAN did a pretty good job with predicting where Cindy would go).

For Lili? Lili went over Marsh Island into New Iberia. You may be thinking of Isidore. I lived in Thibodaux for Isidore, and the center did pass right over Thibodaux/Schriever.

Texas landfall on the TX/LA line, will move NW over Houston and Central Tx. Borderline Cat 2/3.

The following is just a guess.. it's not an actual forecast.. please heed warnings from your local NWS office and the NHC/TPC.

I'd rather these storms go to the moon than affect any land mass here.

Hoping for a quiet second-half of the season...

Early prediction:

Between Morgan City, LA and the LA/MS border as a Strong Cat 3 at least.

This is VERY VERY early and is subject to change. As of now, I think everywhere but the Florida East Coast and Mexico/South Texas is at risk.(Northern Yucatan the exception).

I'm going with Terrebonne Bay just south of Houma, La. as a Category 4.

My prediction

#36 Postby dolebot_Broward_NW » Tue Jul 05, 2005 11:21 pm

Based on my complete lack of experience and knowledge, other than having lived in South Florida for 7 years, I think its going to head right over the southern peninsula of Haiti, west of Port-Au-Prince, over the eastern half of cuba (Guantanamo bayish), upper keys, everglades, out into the gulf, then skirting the coast of FLA, past Tampa and inland at Crystal River.

Dennis will hit Hispaniola as a CAT 2, weaken to a 1 over Haiti, maintain ragged CAT1/TS strength into the straits, TS into the keys/everglades, and maintain tropical characteristics up the west coast and into the state as a TD, dissipating over Ocala.

We shall see. Its still way to early IMHO to do anything else but guess.

I think it will First go through Key West, then head off to the NW, but then turn a little NNW and hit as a Cat 4 between Tampa,FL and Panama City,FL. Yes I know big area, but can't pinpoint it excatly

It's still a bit early to make a hard decision. I'm going with a SE Louisiana hit very close to where Cindy hit. IF Lili was a sign of anything it would be coming in as a Cat. 4 but slow down to Cat. 2 by landfall. That is is Cindy cooled off the waters. If Dennis goes farther to the west (Lake Charles) it may hit head on as a Cat.3 or Cat.4

Time will tell.
