Does SE FL need to watch?
I'm personally not worried about this one because the strong ridge is protecting atleast South Florida I can't see a hook to the NW as it will continue hopefully thru the Channel away from us.

In my opinion, as we learned from Charley last year, if we're anywhere within the cone, we have to watch it. Currently, we're in the cone:

Hey wxwonder12. We are in Royal Palm Beach near Madison Green. I am watching Dennis closely and also that new wave coming off Africa. Have you seen all of those storms moving across equatorial Africa? They look like a freight train!! It usually doesn't look this way until around Labor Day. I guess we're in for a very busy season.

Charley passed 150 miles to our West here in Fort Lauderdale and it was a beautiful day as the storm was making landfall. I was outside at the pool actually wondering when the weather was going to go to hell... Never did that day for us. Hopefully we will get a beautiful weekend out of Dennis as well.

Disclaimer: 50% of the time I have no clue of what I am talking about. Chances are I am taking a less than educated guess that sounds good because 10 years ago I stole Mike Watkins book 'The Hurricane and its Impact'.
