I think people need to take strong TS more seriously. It's not a cat 3 hurricane, but 60 to 70 mph winds are damaging as well. That why we have severe thunderstorm warnings for that kind of wind.

I agree. we all underestimate the power of tropical storms and,also, this one was a strong tropical storm.

Just got electricity back. Lots of trees and telephone poles down.

Entergy reported that they had some 270,000 customers without power after Cindy. That number is now down to under 240,000. Some of the other local power companies had some 5,000 or so north of Lake Ponchartrain. Cindy was indeed underestimated.

I second that,

My house was on WDSU this morning, my neighbor's car was totaled by a tree. The tree also took out 3 pole power lines. I'm still without electric. It was so hot even with the windows open, I went on to work to get some A/C. Sweatin in New Orleans
