Vigorous Low Off Africa.

#1 Postby Anthonyl » Wed Jul 06, 2005 4:22 pm

UKmet seemed to have jumped on this system off Africa and logically speaking, given the favourable conditions which do lie ahead it seems we may have an Emily down the line sooner than later. My concern is posting from the Windwards what kind of path or projectory would this system likely take, as a weakness is forcast in the mid atlantic later down the week.

The faster it develops the more chance it will be a fish.

Looks like we got a very nice outflow pattern. It is looking like we got a low pressure developing at 10 north/20 west. Deep convection over it.

I haven't turn my eyes east until just now. that's one of the best looking waves I've ever seen this time of year coming off the African coast! I'm not so sure that it would be a fish just based on the high pressure that's dominating the Atlantic now.

What? Bertha in 2002 was a GOM storm. In 2003 Bill was a GOM storm as well.

Are you talking about Bertha in 1996?
