MSNBC relates four locations in London, including a double-decker bus, an explosion near the British Museum, and at least one subway train; injuries and any deaths are still unrecorded at this time. :larrow:

The bus is certainly a bomb looking at the pictures, and there are reports of a couple of other bus explosions. The entire London Underground has been closed due to explosions following a "power surge", but it is looking fairly obvious this is a terrorist attack rather than a power surge.

I wonder if this is G8 related.

What a change from yesterday.

Edit - Replying to the above post there have been reports of fatalities.

SKY NEWS is calling it a major terrorist attack and they're reporting "numerous" fatalities....don't know exactly what that means. :(

This would have to be a terrorist attack.. 1 bus exploding or even 2 possibly could happen.. But a series of explosions would be too coincidental..

90 casualties in one explosion reported so far...4 buses blown up, three explosions in the "underground". British Government calls this a "coordinated terrorist attack".

All public transportation has been canceled, and all London hospitals are on "multiple injured" alert.

Here we go, ladies and gentlemen... :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

It's like 9/11 all over again!

The ENTIRE transit system has been shut down! Bus and Underground system.

It looks like terrorist.... yesterday they were bidded the 2012 olympics.

What a sad day :(

Blair is due to make a statement in 40 minutes.

Yes, it does; but the British historically respond with determination and courage when attacked. This could be a signal that London isn't as "safe" as was touted for the 2012 Olympics; there could have been similar attacks for Paris, had they gotten the "nod". :larrow:

Latest from Fox news...

6 confirmed explosions, possibly as many as 8...awaiting confirmation on the last 1 or 2.

Fox is talking to Colonel David Hunt now...he's claiming either Al-Queda or the IRA...I'm putting my money on Al-Queda - coordinated attacks on mass transit (the tube and double-decker buses) within the financial district? IRA doesn't target civilians indiscriminately...plus British intelligence are all over their activities...

Still 90 casualties...wounded, killed and otherwise...won't be the final total unfortunately...

I doubt it is the IRA to be honest. It is within the centre of London yes so the financial district is in the area. (It has certainly had an affect on the London Stock Exchange)

This is scary that there have been explosions at several stations I travel through when I come home from university.

Agree...this is the modus operandi of Al Queda...the IRA, quite possibly even the Provo, wouldn't attempt this number of coordinated attacks.

Our prayers go out to all our "compadres" across the pond...

MSNBC reporting 20 fatalities and that Israel told Scotland Yard of warnings they'd received of terrorist bombings just minutes before the bombs went off.

Fox is reporting it's (the warning) all rumor...I guess that will all shake out in subsequent days...

Yeah. It took a long time to get the 9/11 numbers and everything else shaken out so I guess it's wait and see...again.

At any rate, it's a terrible thing that has happened and the damage to that double decker is unreal.

Tony Blair just gave his statement--he seems to be quite shaken up.

I'm not surprised to be honest given what has happened.

Looks like many people will be sleeping in London tonight as the rail network will not be running anytime soon. National rail trains aren't going any further south of me. (I'm about 25 minutes away from Euston by national rail)

P.K., I'm glad you're safe and you and your countrymen are in my prayers.
