Question for South Louisiana Folks??

I really need to go to my camp in Cutoff to pick up my generator and to check it for damage from Cindy. Here is my question: If the UKMET is close to being right NOLA has a good chance of getting hit. I understand about the contraflow and the phased evacs but I was wondering if it would be better to wait until tomorrow to run down or to go today. I hate to fight the genny (its a big one) unless I need too.

Here in Denham Springs I think the biggest problem will be power outage and tree damage but I do like rocks in my scotch :lol:

I'd go today to get that generator, just in case you find a mess down at the camp. Have a camp above grand Isle just off of Little Lake, only one broken window reported. Two people stayed at the camp for Cindy. Lot of wind, water reportedly came up on the backside when the wind switched direction. Conditions on the bayou today favor a nice boat ride. Stay safe!

If you don't have other time commitments, I'd wait. The phased evacuation isn't even going to start until probably Saturday, and right now the storm isn't even in the Gulf yet.

On the other hand, it couldn't hurt to go today if that will ease your mind at all.

Thanks for the replies, T-man glad to hear your camp is ok. I fish little lake and Clovelly farms quite a bit so I know the area a little. I guess I'll go today just in case I'v got a mess.

I would. A twister reportedly passed thru east of our camp thru Little Lake area, no telling on damage.
