No, and Dade county was foolish to issue TS watches. Foolish.

You also think the Keys shouldn't evacuate, which means you are out of your mind.

I don't think it was foolish, we are expecting at least a few thunderstorms or showers Friday night and through Saturday, and gusty winds of tropical storm strengh

I'm new here and already the Earth Wind Fire poster has me upset by the post stated above. I don't think any warning or watch is foolish. Only foolish by NOT posting watches or warnings. I hope the mods are watching this poster closely. There are too many people on this site to misdirect them in any way, which I think Earth/Wind/Fire is doing.

Not always, ask the people that went through Allison in 2001, or Alberto in 1994.

Dade county will more than likely see T.S. winds and gusts due to the increasing gradient between the ridge and Dennis. Winds are already picking up across all of S. Florida

Yea....tell that to the 200,000+ people who lost power for Cindy the other night and the thousands who are still without power today.

I would disagree with you that a TS is "nothing", but I note that the watch is for a TS in Dade. Is your argument not that Dade county won't get TS force winds but rather that the watch is "stupid" because TS's don't warrant watches in the first place?

 earth/wind/fire: lots of people went through last year enduring TS or hurricanes 4X. TS winds created havoc and 2 people were killed in this area because of TS (nothing to you) winds. Do not downplay of minimize what others experienced and were forced to deal with.

I agree...I wouldn't worry about it. Those little north jogs can look ominous, but to me it still seems to be following the NHC track near-perfectly, maybe just a hair or two north.

Well, in any case I just filled up both vehicles with fuel, got an extra propane tank filled and have 15 extra gallons of fuel for the emergency generator. I went to walmart & got three cases of Sam's water. The only thing that concerns me here on the SE coast is loosing FPL for an extended period due to downed lines. Otherwise looks like a long wet weekend with the grass growing another six inches.

On the other hand, if this thing comes accross Cuba and decides to do what Irene did in '99, we're going to be ready. 8-)

No TS watch is foolish! Getting ready never hurt anybody (and getting gas now is a great idea, before they jack the price up even further)
