Temps

#346 Postby jasons2k » Thu Jul 07, 2005 1:37 pm

Looking at the temps this is about as "warm core" as it gets too. Definately ramping up now.

A 6 mb drop in an hour is possibly an indication that the hurricane may be getting ready to get really nasty, but Dennis is starting to see some significant disruption from land, so the intensification might not last that long.

956 mb is normally category 3, but the background pressure was lower than normal, so I think to 110 mph winds from the latest advisory are reasonable.

SSD dvorak estimates of 5.5/5.5 are indicative of a major hurricane, so the winds may be trailing the intensity here.

At least that's just my best guess.

It's obiviously taken a little while for the winds to respond to the rapid pressure drops.
