The confirmation of an F2 tornado was the cause of the destruction at Atlanta Motor Speedway last night. The tornado was very destructive to all the facilities at the speedway. $40 million dollars of damage was done at the speedway alone. Anyone who is a nascar fan knows that Atlanta is one of the fastest race tracks on the nextel cup circuit. They got alot of cleaning up to do.

AN F2 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ON THE ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY.
IT DID SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE SPEEDWAY FACILITIES.
DAMAGE ESTIMATES EXCEED 40 MILLION DOLLARS FOR THE
SPEEDWAY AND AIRCRAFT AND FACILITIES AT THE ADJACENT TARA
FIELD AIRPORT. THE TORNADO WAS ESTIMATED TO BE 1/2 MILE
WIDE AT ONSET AND THEN NARROWED TO 300 YARDS. TOTAL PATH
LENGTH WAS 9 MILES
