Watching that it looked like it showed a lot of the darker colors practically riding the coast..

Sounds to me like this could get icky..

That I don't like it. I liked it better when these models were swinging east.

[edited to include the following:] Not wanting it to come in on anyone, but if it's gonna come in, it'd be best to go in someplace rather unpopulated around the big bend area.

This is just the first of many 00Z runs to give us some insight.

Big Bend Area....

Gee Thanks,
Glad to know your wishing it to my home since it's a "least important area of Florida" to you. :grr:

Do you know how bad the storm surge will be?
Think NOLA worst cast scenario

I'm sorry. Don't want it to harm anyone, but there are areas out there that are largely swamp and 40+ between towns. Pick one of those spots and that's where I want it to go through.

I've flown over the Big Bend area a few times...theres NOTHING there. Sorry, but it'd be much better to hit there than a populated area like Pensacola - Panama City, or further south near Tampa.

Then again....I'm quite fond of Cedar Key...so I wouldn't want that getting whiped away either!

I'll wait obviously for the other models, but N.O. to Mobile is definitely looking like Mobile to Panama City now.

No doubting it at this point. Areas east of Mobile all the way to N.O. should closely continue to monitor this storm. FL peninsula will see outer effects though, particularly the Keys.

Of course now I wait as the other models shift wildly to New Orleans tonight. :D

I don't think you're too familiar with the recent development along the coast of the big bend, particularly Wakulla County. We're booming down here and this would really, really create a lot of havoc in this area.

Wow that shows Dennis' remnants plowing thru the Carolinas doesn't it?
Rivers are at full pool now around here from Cindy's leftovers.

How about the coastline south of Tallahassee? The shoreline from Cedar Key northward to Tallahassee just looked barren to me.
