Question about outflow and the ridge

I notice that the outflow to the North that is just south of the FL peninsula seems to be streaming north while the ne quad is obviously being flattened by a ridge. Does this in any way indicate that the ridge directly to the north may be eroding somewhat to allow the outflow to stream north?

I noticed the same thing. Some times when you see a storm "point" as in this case as you noted about the clouds streaming north, it is an indication that the storm is/will be moving in that general direction. Not all the time however, do not know if this the case on this or not. Any thoughts and comments welcomed.

some levels of the high have moved off shore already... :eek:

Sorry if this sounds elementary but does that mean the high over flordia is backing down. And if so what does that mean for the track of the storm. Thanks in advance for you reply cind52

I'm no met but it certainly looks that way to me. Maybe someone with more experience can shed some light on possible track implications.

the late bill kamal used to talk about looking at the clouds for direction changes and it works out more than you think..all interests from key west tto the panhandle better stay on this.
