jb makes a really good point. its all about physics. when dennis gets close to exiting cuba, it will likely turn west along the coast.

it does indeed look like it may come in east of there - it would really have to jog to the west to cross @ the neck - but you never really know until we have actual landfall. anything can happen as it hugs the coast for the next few hours.

Not quite correct. He gets bashed for being an incompetent liar. Has nothing to do with not working for NHC.

I don't understand why he always wants to defy the NHC track and scare people. I firmly believe it will hit the Gulf Shores-Pensacola area. You people are all in my prayers and stay safe.

I won't believe it until it's actually making landfall. It's NOTHING against the NHC only because it's just too early to call when the storm hasn't even entered the GOM.

If he's right with his tracking it's because of that poor tug boat driver that has been pulling that stolen bouy in the eye of Dennis and getting recon for him. . Last I heard he was just coming around the western edge of cuba should catch up to Dennis aroud 2:00 am this morning .

At 17mph seriouly going to have to slow down for the turn. The ridge for the time being seems to be strong for that kind of increase in forward speed.Look at the formation of the clouds of the storm and what direction they are going.might give a hint of the direction.

why bag on Bastardi? Even at this point, a slight shift in the ridge or trough could set Dennis at a different approach angle, and as Charley showed last year, that makes a large difference sometimes in landfall.

well, we shall see what happens. i think some should maybe hold back a bit before declaring "i'm quite sure dennis will do this" stuff whilst bashing someone else. if dennis doesn't do what u say he will do - you'll be the one with egg on your face when it's over.
