Well, Dennis just made landfall in Western Cuba as a 130-135 kt Hurricane. I never expected it to get that strong, I thought 115-120 kt. However, this is the area of Cuba I expected it to make landfall. Near Cienfuegos, and now I expect it to exit near Cardenas or Matanzas at about 105-110 kt. I expect the ridge to be able to push Hurricane Dennis a little further west towards Mississippi/Alabama. I fear it may rapidly deepen west of the Keys towards 120-130 kt. I expect a landfall in Mississippi/Alabama at around 120 kt.

Great work - easily as helpful and much more entertaining than the local television stuff. I think that you can have a career in the media for sure - hopefully as the weather-dude. Regarding the posters - hey, it's his show and he makes the rules. Later, workplace rules and laws and this and that - plus the political correctness "hurricane" itself - will keep Mr. Floydbuster on a short leash. Right here, right now - he is the boss. If I'm "offended", then I guess I won't watch his shows again. Huh! What a novel concept!

Awesome intro and funny as hell outro with the music.

I like your forecasts. You beat out the weekend mets here in lafayette. I think you'll do well as a met (if you pursue). You have stage presence and don't stutter. You are a NATURAL.

I can't wait to see you standing in Gulf Shores on TWC.

for one, I see, as well as the NHC sees that it made landfall in Central Cuba, but more towards the eastern side. I think you are trying to froce your forecast and place Dennis on the western part. I see Dennis riding the coast or very close to it.

I tend to agree with you on this. I cannot imagine what kind of storm surge that would put into the Miss. Gulf Coast. The water is extremely shallow near the beaches.

15-20 feet if it comes in as a Category 4. Crazy.

David (dhweather) and I live about 10 miles from Pass Christian, where Camille came in. Even 35 years later, there are still stretches along Highway 90 that are bare. I believe Camille's storm surge was 20+ feet.

not tonight. if it heads this way, tomorrow morning I'll board up.

I have fought with this generator all day. Looks like it is gummed up. Fuel Stabilizer must not have worked.

Great job Mike. Agree with you 817% on the track. Been saying it since yesterday. I hope it does not come to pass, but looking at whats going on thats what I see happening. Already it looks to be trending slightly west of track already. IMHO
