Hurricanes making their own environment
can someone explain to me about hurricanes making their own environment? does this basically mean they will go where they want to go? Is Dennis in the position of making its own enviornment?

I am guessing it is just a wives tale...I couldnt find anything on the internet, it may be that I am just searching in the wrong spots.

Read about hurricane allen's path. he wasf forecast to turn for days but kept on north west. I have heard others discuss this when talking about hurricanes impacting their surroundings.

Keep in mind, Allen was 25 years ago. I'm not sure what, if anything, they had in the way of modelling back then. The NHC's 5-day forecast is as accurate as the 2-day forecast was in 1980.
