Sounds about right, it's really been windy for the past few hours, looked as though our power lines might have came down but the winds let go.

Local news report 60,000 homes without power in Miami-Dade County and 18,000 out in Broward County. My power has Flickered during some of the heavy bands that passed over us. Winds were very heavy earlier and I saw blue lightning for the first time ever.

I've actually had no power outages, yet.
Flickers, about five times now. One tv actually went out but came back in. Winds have been picking up, though it's been pretty calm lately. Hope your uncle is doing ok in Homestead, it's already flooded in the back yard here in Florida City / Homestead

Yep, mine have flickered too with those heavy bands and extreme winds that looked as though they wanted to take our trees and power lines with it, saw some flashes but wasn't really watching for colors.

hope your power does not go out. We spent one sweaty night with no power and two kids so scared they climbed into bed with us for Cindy. That is so uncomfortable. Not to mention I was suffering from Storm2k withdrawl

Probably tornados or straight line winds associated with the thunderstorms moving through south Florida, part of that strong spiral band.

Talked to my buddy in the Lower Florida Keys. They've been without power for about 3-4 hours at this point. Winds starting to get pretty strong down there. He's on Big Pine Key, about 25 miles east of Key West.

The Hurricane looks like it's weakening and going more westward toward LA/TX and yet the conditions here keep getting worse. Power still holding on with a few more flickers.

Yeah, they lost power a while ago (watching channel 4) .. they showed the reporter and he said the power has been out for a bit, while the winds and rain seemed to be getting pretty bad too for them a while now, but getting worse of course as time goes.
