Ridiculous!

we just heard on the news, the d.o.t is pulling over gas tankers coming in to pcola for being overloaded, of course they are, its an emergency!!

Sounds ridiculous to me too, but maybe we don't know the whole story. Perhaps it damages the roads by weighing to much?! I don't know... that sounds sort of far fetched.

Overweight trucks do damage the road, but only very gradually over a very long period of time. If this is true, those troopers should be fired.

what do they do after they pull them over? Make them unload right there?

They won't damage the road, only a safety issue. You would think they could escort the thangs in :roll:

Due to the London attacks, the transportation system as at a high state of alert. Possible that they are just doing their job.

You are right I hadn't thought of that. UGH! If the storms aren't enough to think about we have to worry about stupid people killing others!

Good point, Strat. Hope that is it. So many of us are focused on the hurricane but our nat'l security sure could be vulnerable at this time.
