I'm 200 miles inland. :) Only concern here is some gusts to 60-70 mph. I'm going to be WELL east of the center(I'm on the Georgia stateline).

If I lived there though... I would have been long gone. This is not to be fooled around with. I love to track hurricanes, but this is a beast.

If I didn't know any better......I'd say he isn't just moving west, he is shotgunning that direction. However, I know better, and I know he should wobble back in line...but gawd...could you imagine a NOLA track from where he is at now....I mean, its too late for them...*sigh* Guess I'll join the FL N cheering section from here on out, atleast those folks got a warning..

That would be devastating. Due west or West N W Into NOLA. That'd be crazy. Especially the strength of this thing.

I don't think you'll ever see a due W, but it could keep a WNW/NW/NNW wobble up enough to keep it at due NW and right into NOLA....I just don't think there is anything to support pushing him due west unless <insert diety of choice> is pushing him around with their finger...

cheers,
loon

If Dennis makes 150mph through that hot pocket and weakens he'll do what Ivan did and carry the intense surge along on his weakening front. That's a big surge formula even with weakening winds.

Dennis has straightened out in track. The extrapolation line runs right through Perdido right now just west of Pensacola. I'm confused because a Bermuda High west periphery-riding cyclone should curve slightly by that time. Whether the High is pushing right along with Dennis in this weak CONUS environment has yet to be seen...

They gave up... :P

This is why you shouldn't jump the gun on someone seeing wobbles. Just let them see what they think they see and don't criticize them for it.

Rick Sanchez IMO could be in trouble...

Just showed him with the SS beginning and there is no way from them to get out...

If they get caught in the eyewall...Not good..

Didn't see this until now. We stayed. We're not right on the coast, so our house probably would have held up even if the eye crossed in Alabama. Our power isn't even out yet.

He'll almost surely get the eyewall then.
