Port St Lucie (East Coast) in the midst of heavy rain, thunder/lightning. Power keeps going on and off. It has been like this for about an hour now, steady with strong winds.

Update from Wakulla County, FL..

#76 Postby LilNoles2005 » Sun Jul 10, 2005 11:18 am

My parents are on the coast, south of Tallahassee, and I'm located about 15 minutes north of them and at the coast we experienced a 9 foot storm surge this morning. This is amazing since we are well east of the center. My father's brand new GMC Sierra Z-71 is underwater underneath the house. I told them they shouldn't stay, but they didn't listen to me. It's insured, no worries there. As for the other weather conditions, Shell Point recently experienced a wind gust of 55 mph. Pretty impressive this far east.

Sustained winds: 31 mph, gusts to 41 mph. Local tides about 2.5 f above normal. Tidal surge is forecast to increase as the winds shift. Had 2 power blinks, power still on. Gulf Power has been fixing outages. But they have just announced they are pulling back until the storm passes. We turned down the AC to pre-cool the house. Brrrr!!
