If we see in the 920's and it hits mobile, itll be the second most costliest storm no problem.

My personal opinion is that he has peaked. AN ERC will likely take him down to a high cat 3 or low cat 4 and that is what he will landfall as...JMO...anything can happen as this storm so obviously proves.

I take it your not on the weather channel payroll...

:?: Not sure what you mean by this. ERC is inevitable (or else we are about to experience the worst disaster in our country. If it can occur early than it might have time to regain some intensity. Again I am only giving my opinion. People should be preparing for the storm of their lives.

Here's what Jeff Masters said a while back:

"The current wobble is enough to probably spare Panama City the worst of the hurricane, but increases the danger to Mobile. A direct hit by Dennis just west of Mobile could easily challenge Hurricane Andrew as the most expensive hurricane in history. Dennis's storm surge of 15-20 feet would push into Mobile Bay and cause tens of billions in destruction."

Storm has dropped 6 millibars in 3-4 hours. 940-934. Very possible to dip into 920's since pressure isn't leveling off yet...

What will this do to the oil platforms in the gulf?

Likely if the highest winds hit them distroy them???

Seriously all those yellow dots on the buoy center gulf map are Oil stations/rags. In which the eye pf this hurricane went right over 2 or 3 them.

Speaking of oil, there's a major Chevron refinery in Pascagoula. I wouldn't be surprised to see gas go up.
