Destin to Gulf Shores

#1 Postby PTPatrick » Sun Jul 10, 2005 8:16 am

Sounds like Dennis is pulling an Ivan...saving mobile again. Steve lyons just showed the radar with track and it is clearly on a trajectory to between P'cola and Destin. A jog west of this point would more likely send it to gulf shores than mobile

One of the TWC in-the-field mets just interviewed a sheriff from Destin. The sheriff was talking about how the NHC just said Dennis was going more towards the north and possibly bringing the eye there, and then he said, "We're just going to hunker down, ...." He nearly broke into tears, and managed to choke out the rest: "...and just keep praying."

Well there goes the nice condo complex on Okaloosa Island we stayed at twice... it survived Ivan but had flooding and sand in all the rooms as well as roof damage. This is looking a whole lot worse. Surge is going to be tremondous.
