If you would like to see some wind blow some trees:

That's about all we have in Diamondhead. Barometer 29.54 and falling,
no rain in a while, .14 total on the day. NO gusts over 30 MPH.
I'll probably take advantage of the cool weather and get my shutters down.

My mother called from east central MS and said they LISTENED to me and staked down all the big stuff in the yard and moved their plants indoors.
I'm flabbergasted. And proud of them; if Dennis hadn't weakened before landfall they were likely to get a lot of wind up there (an hour north of Meridian, MS). I evac'd there for Ivan and there were strong TS winds with gusts to hurricane strength up there when he came through.

Pressure is 29.48, winds gusting to 30, drizzle at best.
It's amazing that we can be 120 miles from a landfalling cat 3
and see next to nothing storm wise. Mother Nature does some
odd things sometimes.
Hopefully he moved inland so fast and he was weakening, that the
landfall area has very little damage.
Best of all, he certainly cooled the caribbean and GOM down some.
