As it comes closer and ashore i'll take more in depth zoomed in loops to detail the area's being hit.

Definitely looks NNW to me. Maybe it'll go east of Mobile after all?

Its heading over the past 2.5 hours is 332 degrees, or so says my radar software. ;)
That is 5.5 degrees off from NNW which is 337.5

Edit:
I can't type... lol

That is only 5.5 degrees off from NNW which is 327.5

322 is one degree closer to true NW than true NNW. But my eyes are shot probably.

I'll try and keep updating it occasionally... and near landfall i'll post pics of high quality zoomed in images and loops of street level.
-Eric

The software is Gibson Ridge Level3
It takes the NEXRAD public radar data and manipulates it to make it easier to read by smoothing, and also adds a TON of features.
It can be downloaded here:
http://www.grlevelx.com/grlevel3/

My version has a lot of customizations done, but the base version still is Beyond amazing, especially compared to any free released products anywhere. There is a 30 day trial, or purchase for 75 bucks i think. I have been using it for over a year back into the beta trial when it was first made, and free. ;) But i have bought it since then to support the person who is writing it. It tracks cells, and displays more things than you would believe. Download it if you can.
-Eric

One of the newest things i added was the maps from the US census dept. that give me full street level maps, and features like lakes and streams and such. Also i added a backdrop to the national image... usually its black.

The Mobile radar shows the eye significantly more to the north than the NW Florida radar at the same time does. Why is this?

Anyone? The NWFL radar is outdated, that's the only thing I can think of.

I've hit refresh on both Mobile and Eglin radars in Google Earth and they show the eye to be the same for me...?

I dont know, i was wondering the same thing. Becuase my radar is not matching up to the NHC track. I have pretty much the same thing going on as far as graphics as you do mtm4319 (you just beat me to the idea of posting screenshots) ...anyways...im still showing updates every 5 min...as in i can see it update...but like i said it isnt matching up...so i have no idea

That'd be a 21-mile difference. Quite annoying. I'm gonna stick with MOB radar.
