Perdido Bay.....

#1 Postby dixiebreeze » Sun Jul 10, 2005 10:33 am

Just found out some of my family is on Perdido Bay, riding out Dennis! The home is boarded up and they have plentiful supplies, but good heavens, that's a dangerous spot.

If the house is on the bay then these people made a very foolish decision. Between the surge and winds anything near the water will be destroyed.....MGC

Bad place to be. Track very close to Naval Air Station right now. Your people better hope he doesn't strengthen...

I agree, Sanibel, they are close to the Naval Station. Jeremy rode out Ivan just a few miles from the beach between Fort Walton and Pensy, so thinks he's invulnerable, I guess.

Not.

http://www.hurricanetrack.com/Wind/ here is a live cam of Mark Sudduths Tahoe at Perdido Key. It might give you some idea of the weather they experience

Right now I would risk saying east Santa Rosa will take the hard compact east eyewall.

Radar shows tight 30 mile core showing up now sharply like Charley.

Probably these Perdido people will luck out and the hard north winds will push surge away.

Maybe The air station and Pensacola downtown will take hard north winds in the west core...
