GYAAH, they showed a family running into the hotel right as the eye was approaching, and just now interviewed one of them. They were passing through and heard on the radio that the storm was coming, and were trying to drive through it...but the roads were closed (thank goodness) and they parked under the hotel overhang and ran for their lives.

You should see my Home Movies of the Eye of Elena ('85)Passing over My House! ...No sound (Super 8 Film) But as Strong wind shots if not stronger!...The most AMAZING thing I've EVER seen was the CHARLEY EYEWALL VIDEO!
Agreed. I lost the video of Charley's Eyewall and it was the most amazing hurricane footage I've ever seen. If anyone know where I can download it again, let me know.

we got BETTER graphics than CNN!
Close, but they had Jacqui show something similar and a touch better a couple fo minutes ago.
Yeah, I saw that too. A clearer shot of the eye, whereas the radar overlay with Google Earth is filling in the eye with blue and green, making it hard to pinpoint the center (I have it somewhere near Milton right now...).

I couldn't remember where they were going, but NC George says they were trying to get to SC from Houston via I-10. They must not watch the news much.
