SE Eyewall opening?

From this radar it looks like the SE part of the eyewall is opening up. Wouldn't that be good for those in the path? (Yes, I know they're still getting 120+ mph winds, but the eye isn't totally closed up as it was)...

Looks like Chilipepper AL was right. Big dry air intrusion into SE quadrant preshore.

Almost eyewall collapse.

The western eyewall looks more intense than the east...

Yep. Saw that too about twenty minutes ago. This thing will definitely do major damage, but it does appear that the beast is falling apart at just the right time.

There were reports of 15 c-130's dropping dynomat right before land fall. I think it was on CNN so it must be true!! :D

Yep. CNN is always on top <cough> baby milk factory <cough> of things! :wink:

Actually, today was the first time in a coupla years I've bothered to check CNN, and they've done a pretty decent job .. at least of the little I've watched of them.

Today was the first day since Ivan hit that I've watched CNN for more than 15 minutes at a time. :P
