All righty, based on the real-life Emily's in your life, what will the storm, Emily, be like?

I grew up with a girl named Emily. She was nice and fairly unassuming.

One thing that really stuck in my mind about her was that she showed up to school in the 5th grade with a hugely swollen nose--like she'd gotten socked in the face by Mike Tyson. Turns out she was in the bathroom at home getting ready to shower and was taking off her buttondown shirt when the cuffs got caught on her wrists. So she decided it would be fun to play jump rope with the shirt hanging inside out from her wrists. Yeah.

So...she tripped on it and fell facefirst into the side of the bathtub. Instant fatnose. Maybe this Emily will go careening off the first tiny land mass it hits and run back out to sea in embarrassment. :)

Emily to go poof

#44 Postby jimvb » Mon Jul 11, 2005 7:59 am

The only Emily I know is someone who went out with someone I knew, until, rather suddenly, she broke up with him and has not been heard from since.

So I predict this Emily will develop to Category 2 or 3, then it will suddenly disappear. Sort of like Debby a few years ago.

I dont know any real life Emily's, but one of my favorite authors happens to be Emily Bronte. She wrote classic novels such as wuthering heights. (my all time favorite novel). This lady was one who went totally against the grain for her era and did not behave in the manner that was expected of her!

There's a lady at my church named Emily. She's married to one of the preachers and used to be in charge of the junior choir, of which I was a member. She's a nice Christian woman on the outside, but I think on the inside she smolders with a quiet determination.

Based on this I think Emily will be a well-formed storm that smolders with danger. Cat 3 at least.

My cousin Emily, who was the flower girl at my wedding, lives in the NORTHEAST!

A girl who is as sweet as pie and a long ways away sounds like a good role model for a storm to me!

You want a spooky one? I knew a Dennis in Elementary school here in Safety Harbor, FL. He used to mush my face in the sandbox and knock me off of the monkey bars. He had a younger sister two grades lower than us named Emily. She was equally as mean. I have no idea where they live now. So in my experience, Emily's are smaller younger sisters that follow the family tradition of attempting to whoop your butt.

I HAD to bump this one back up, seeing as I just remembered something about "my" Emily... [See first post...]

HER BIRTHDAY IS TOMORROW.

Chance of Emily forming on Emily's birthday? Quite high.

According to my neighbor John, his first wife was named Emily. When I told him the next storm would be named Emily, with a wry grin he said, "If she is anything like my first wife, she'll take everything I've got!"
