Site Funding Request - My thoughts
First, let me say that I've been a member of storm2k for a year now.
It's become a mecca for me. I quickly learned why others call
storm2k "The Legal Addiction". This post is my own work, nobody asked
me to do it. This is just how I feel and wanted hear my thoughts.
The community as a whole is second to none. There is something
here for everyone - from the professional met to the novice that is
just learning what a cyclone is. The best part is the interaction that
the forums offer so we can all talk, share thoughts, and learn.
The time donated by the pro mets, in particular, helps all of us
learn and understand things much better. Where else can you
actually talk with professional meterologists for free?
While storm2k is a free site, there are costs each month to keep
the site up and running. Resources for the server and administaration
of it cost money. I've chipped in, and if you find storm2k of any
benefit to you, I ask that you chip in as well. Help keep storm2k
a free site !!
Also remember, storm2k is available 24x7x365 - not just during
Hurricane Season. Dontaions are key to keeping the site up.
At $150 a month JUST TO OPERATE (not including upgrades,
enhancements, etc) the bills add up quickly. The basic operations
cost $1800 annually!!
It would certanly be a great benefit for the site management to
be able to get the donations needed to keep storm2k going, even
through the "slow" months.
If you would like to chip in, please donate here:

Thanks-

Are you a Gator fan?
I work there...so it's a requirement.
Then you're safe.
(Just kidding...obviously, there are no guarantees based on what FL team you follow. Just follow the rules and you'll be fine. If not, we'll let you know about it.

For the record though -- I'm a Gator football fan. Saw you were in Gainesville, so I had to ask. *CHOMP!*

I'll make this pledge to a fellow Gator fan. If we win the SEC Championship this season, I'll donate an additional $250.00 to Storm2k. Everyone here is anxious to see what the new guy can do.
