Carl Arredondo, Chief Met for WWL, said basically the same thing. "It's going to Mexico".

I'm not so much that I'm against a Met making a call this early in the game, but when that Met happens to be brodcasting to a million+ Yats, that's a different story. In my opinion, everyone in N.O. should be "feeling the threat" all season long, instead of having the "officials" downplay the potential.

He likes to play with his VIPER, I just hope it doesn't bite him one day! :D
I agree it looks like it will stay south of NO ,still it's way too early to call though.

What's happened to Bob??? He use to always find some kind of scenerio for a storm to hit here, but ever since last year he's been doing the opposite.

Surprised he would make such a statement. Things in the atmosphere change constantly.

My brother (lives in Mandeville, LA) called me and told me about Bob's all clear declaration. I use to live in N.O. so I'm familiar with him. He use to be a worry bird when came to hurricanes. Anyway, I'm sorry folks but unless he's got a direct line to the man almighty there is NO way you can say anywhere along the GOM coastline is in the clear this far out. I guess we can call him Bob "Bastardi" Breck.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say whatever station this Breck works for probably doesn't use Accuweather.

Accuweather can't be serious with that graphic. That's as bad as Bernie Rayno trying to play goodcop badcop and hedge Bastardi the other day when Dennis was 20 hours out from making landfall.

As for the graphic, is it just me or did anyone else notice the ENTIRE Gulf of Mexico is within their cone? Who do, who do they think they're foolin'?

They definitely got everyone covered with that map. I'd laugh if it wen south of that map. That would be hilarious.

Let's all be honest here folks... he might be calling it way early, but Emily is overhyped as it is. He's got plenty of time to change his mind, but as of now he doesn't see it happening.

Breck does the same thing every tropical storm.

Days out, he plays it down and says there is nothing to worry about, won't effect us, etc.

Then, when it gets closer and closer he totally panics and goes all dramatic.
He's gotten extremely annoying and looks foolish.

I saw his teaser/opening weather segment after the All Star Game and it wasn't bad. He said he was encouraged and thought that if the storm didn't slam into Central (that's South Bob) America, the NHC would probably revise the track southward. He didn't think it would even get into the gulf but if it did, would go (and drew an arrow from the Yucatan to like Brownsville). He said he'd have more in the weather segment, but I ain't watching tv anymore tonight. Someone else can report on it if they see it.

Well, Channel 4 New Orleans changed their tune a little bit. They said that a weakness might pull it further north. They said they will continue to watch it. But, since it is so far away, it is no concern at this point. They only talked about Emily for about 5 seconds on the noon news.

Yes, the famous UKMET. It sure has it in for New Orleans. Every storm, it has it headed for the mouth of the MS.
