This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Is that what is allowed at MIT these days. How sad :x

What are your credentials to say his plan won't do anything to the hurricane.

What are yours?

I didn't say if it would or wouldn't work.

I am not the one claiming I know more then researchers and experts in the field like most people here are.

I don't see anyone claiming they know more than researchers or scientists. I see some questioning what IMHO is a somewhat bizzare and unsubstantiated claim at this point, as we well should. As much as I advocate and bellieve in "thinking outside the box" Don Sutherland hit it on the head with his post. Ain't gonna happen, and what part of DON'T FOOL WITH MOTHER NATUREdo these people not understand?

Many Many prominant scientist who have studied weather and atmospheric sciences say it is possible to manipulate the weather, by saying they are wrong is saying you know more than them. I am sorry but you like him are just as bad as people who say there is no global warming.

No, because both it is an amature claiming he knows more than experts.

Yeah in there is people like him that wents to bring back T.Rex or even clone humans. These people are crazy....In both of thoses are hardly even 1 out of a billion as bad as messing with the Atmosphere. We don't have a idea about what going to happen. Hurricanes where here since there was oceans. In will always play a part an the Atmosphere. In if we went to get jumpy. The Atmosphere will make something that might turn on us in distroy us.

So why don't you and the MIT scientist get together, set up some jet engines, turn 'em on and see how it goes?

My bean method is much cheaper. More fun for the participants, too.

Ok show me your proof of Global warming!!! No, never mind, wrong forum and we have hashed that one out her before.

I don't believe you will find anywhere that I or anyone else said it is not possible to manipulate the weather.
We all know that is possible and has been done on a limited basis. What we are saying is that this particular method will not work. Your swipes at this group and that group are not lending any credibility whatsoever to your arguments either. You have shown nothing to back it up. As I said Don Sutherland has got it right. It can not happen as outlined by that article. It is not physically possible as he has described it unless he is talking about thousands of jet engines in one place and even then I doubt it would happen since a TC has the energy of many, many, many atomic bombs in it.
