 I've seen that rig ..its Ginormous!

You got that right! I've never seen one that big. Now I know why Dennis weakened prior to landfall. He had to go over that thing! It's about the size of Jamaica!

Dennis pasted some 80 to 100 miles to the East of Thunder Horse, it played NO part in the listin, it was some sort of software issue due to a power outage.

NBC says otherwise and indicates that Dennis caused the damage. Waves could do it without Dennis passing over it.

So far I haven't seen anything but speculation that Dennis caused the damage. Most things I've read point to either computer or human error.

I see what you mean. BP is still investigating. From WFAA.com:

Sources say that a service ship working to get the rig ready for the approaching storm may have damaged the rig with its anchor.

BP says that it is investigating. In a statement, the company says "Crews have restored partial power to the platform and have begun pumping." Company officials say the first priority will be to safely board the vessel for a further assessment of its stability.

The Thunder Horse platform was evacuated of all personnel on Friday in anticipation of the hurricane’s approach.

There has been no known release of any fuel or hazardous substances.

The Houston-based company is sending several vessels to the Thunder Horse location and working with the Coast Guard to create a response plan.

NBC is full of idiots. Check the wave heights south of the mouth of the Mississippi. Check the wind velocities.
Dennis did NOT cause this, and I don't care how many stupid reporters try to tell me otherwise. Not one of them even knows what this facility really is, much less what might have happened to it.

We had some 40 plus foot waves with Dennis that would have raised havoc with any kind of stabilizing system on the rig.

With higher oil prices feeding inflation things are getting tight.

I looked at a pair of red beach sandals at Walmart tonight and they were 5 times what I paid for a pair a few years ago.
At that price I would be afraid to leave them on the beach to go for a swim.
