How to look at visible Sat loops when looking for CoC

I see many many people looking at Sat loops of Emily and 'assuming' the center of circulation is under the big blooms of convection. What I have learned from watching sat loops is you need to try to find the lower clouds closer to the surface. While looking at sat loops you learn to pick out different levels of clouds. They look and move different. Once you understand how the clouds look that are lower down then the big exploding convection loops, you need to try to peek through the breaks in high cloud tops to see the lower circulation. Like in Emily these are not circulating around the middle of the convection... practice looking for these 'low clouds' and you will find a whole new world of sat loop watching

pebbles...from my best estimate...the COC is in the upper left corner of that huge blob...look at the last VIS pic...and you can see it...right where the storms have really exploded...hope this helps

Oh that's where I thought the CoC was too.. Just making a note for those not use to looking for the 'lower' clouds when looking at sat loops. Many people new to watching sat loops assume the center is right under the middle of big convections or base circulation on the big convections only instead of looking for the 'lower' clouds that tell more truely where the low level circulation is. The cloud layers are like a stack strawberry topped pancakes. You want to look at the lowest pancake... not the strawberries and whip cream on top, even if the strawberries and whip cream look better.
