I wonder if NHC is going to post the track sometime soon.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Nope... it's slightly farther north and the 120-hour position is NW of the previous one.

I'll take your word for it. But the NHC track is wrong anyway, so there's no point splitting hairs.

Who cares??? Average 5-day track error: THREE HUNDRED miles.

LOL That was exactly my point, Brent. At 96 hours out, the track is bound to be wrong to some degree. I wasn't claiming to be right...just that the NHC track is bound to be wrong at this point. Just a little levity.

Do you happen to live in Texas???

I was going to ask that.

We know where texasheat wants it to come to!

I'm not thinking that Emma is headed for Texas because I *want* her to head there. I'm thinking that she'll hit Texas because I *don't want* her to hit there. Oil prices are high enough, and I can't afford $3 gallon right now. But the way my financial luck has been panning out lately, you could bet your bottom dollar that Emma is going to hit every oil rig between Cancun and Houston, and end up wiping out half the refineries in Texas City.

Pray for that not to happen please. How would you like to pay over $700 per fill up and get only 7mpg?

*Sigh* There is. And I'd hate to make it worse, but that would make everybody satisfied. Win-Win.

Geez - I'm sure sick of everyone accusing other people of "wanting a storm" or "-removed-". I think I said this in a previous year - so what?!? Do you think that if ALL the people in Texas wished a storm onto their state, it would happen just because of our wishing power?

I have a friend here in Houston, who every YEAR wishes for the storm of all storm to hit here. You know what I do? I laugh.

At least, in MY mind, God makes the final decision - not our wishes. duh. So please please, I beg of you - please stop with the accusations and let us wish for a storm or wish not for a storm... in peace.

Agreed!! Everyone on this board wishcasts at some point either for a storm to hit them or for a storm not to hit them. For the comment of someone getting bashed for -removed-, I do not think that would be tolerated on this board period.

The problem is not the -removed- itself. It's people using data and bending it to make their case. For instance, Last week when Dennis was approaching the Central gulf Coast people was posting every five seconds "Ridge Breaking Down" or "ridge too strong" whatever they needed to make a case for their hometown. This is called a homer. God forbid one model out of many is outlier anywhere near them they will jump all over it, no matter how bad the models history is. JMHO. If you don't believe me go back and look at some of the posts that was started while Dennis was entering the GOM and see how silly they sound.

Thanks Mobilebay that is the idea I was trying to get out!! It is not the -removed- but bending the forecasts to fit is what is the basic problem.

It doe's not matter how much you wish. These storms are like any other storm they go as they wish. All you can do is watch in learn.

It matters when you are on this board trying to talk common sense and you have to skip through all these Homer posts to get some legitimate information. At one point the Mods where having to lock posts because they Had three or four at the time coming up about the "strength" of the high.
