If it did the winds would be from the west.

The center is going right over Grenada. They have to be getting hurricane force winds.

At 1:15 eastern, it appears the center was directly over Grenada, per infrared satellite.

As of 1:00 AM Eastern time, only 14mph winds from the ENE (gust to 41), and not even a report of rain. Pressure is up to 1010mb. :?:

The next hourly update will likely see the highest winds.

Those reports are two hours old. The storm is wraping tightly at this moment. They are taking the northwest quad right now.

My guess is that the Grenadines probably took the brunt of Emily since they would have been just to the north of its center. Still, I would have expected Grenada to have got more than they apparently did.

Emily continues to throw up surprises.

I know with these small systems if your not in the eyewall you get nothing. I was about 85 miles west of Dennis and barely got a stiff breeze. The wind field on Dennis and Emily appear to be pathetic. :D

Emily only has hurricane force wind outwards of 30 miles. Dennis had 40 miles at landfall.

Also Charley 2 hours before landfall had a wind field of 30 miles hurricane force winds. With 105 mile tropical storm force wind. As it was moving inland. When its core was going down to around 6 to 8 nmi its hurricane force winds was 25 nmi with tropical storm force 85 nmi.

So Emily wind field is about as big as Charleys.

Also here is a hrd surface wind map. It shows that your area only had 30 mph winds.
