I doubt it highely that Emily will strike here. But, we did not even get near the heart of the season, yet. So, there is always next time.

That said, though ..... your friend should certainly be in close contact with his agent as the closing date approaches and someone should contact the insurance company to find out what standard they are using and the likelihood of a storm delay....

Thanks for the info. Just spoke with him and he's already set.

My brother is in real estate and they can't close when a watch or warning goes up.

I luckily have the day off, so I think I may start by re-caulking around the windows. They've been needing it and it's something I have to do anyway. I'll also might stock up on a few necessities like water, etc. I should have that on hand too.

But I don't plan on boarding up or anything like that unless something drastic changes.

They may have to adjust wedding plans. I wonder if they have prepared for adjustment at this point. How unfortunate!

Not much prep work here - I'll check flashlight batteries and flashlights and stay the heck off I-35, and all the State roads that all the people closer to the coast might be evac-ing on...

Oh yeah, and buy more film for my camera....

LOL that is too funny! Tell em to use their lucky doggies to scare away Emily! Then again maybe the doggies are trying to get them to adopt a third.. then they would be naughty doggies in deed! :P

I doubt that it would be anywhere near SW LA however I decided to check my major prep items and noticed my new generator was missing and that upset me. DH loaned it to one of the mardi gras krewe's and they've yet to return it, 5 months ago. Trust me, I'll get it from them today. Other items in place, just in case, as I don't trust fickled hurricanes after last year and this years most unusual/historical occurances.

Now there's a thought - checking the caulk never crossed my little pea brain. "Oh Daaaaaaave! I have another honey-do for you this weekend!"

No, but I'd like to. Can you clue a girl in?

I am really torn, fiance thinks we should get prepared but I am not convinced yet. I really don't think it's coming this far north.

That being said he will have a list of things to take care of tomorrow while I am busy with wedding planning. And my sister is due to have her baby in a week, this is just awful timing!!!!
