Looks like Emily will be at C3 by the 11pm update, and could very well reach C5 by the time it reaches the Yucatun.

Does it matter. Any storm that develops over land that has already been walloped will be devastating..

Yowzer! Did you come close! Arlene and Bret WERE TS's, Cindy was a TS (almost cane) on the Louisiana Coast, Dennis was a Cat 4 and DID LF as a Cat 3 on the Florida Panhandle, Emily was a near Cat 5 and landfalled on the Mexico Coast as a 3, and Franklin and Gert are both TS's.

lol, that's because he made his predictions on July 11th.

Irene seems to be the favorite to reach Cat4 here. I think we've had alot of I-name storms reach major hurricane status recently...Ivan, Isabel, Isidore, Iris, Isaac...99's Irene was the last one, I guess.

Arlene was closer to becomeing a cane than Cindy i think because the pressure was alot lower that cindy but you are right cindy was almost a cane can't argue with that.
I hope we get to W because i have a friend named Wilma and i would like to tell them about it

My hypothetical LEE Prediction that I made on April 5, 2005:::

Tropical Storm Lee
October 16-18, 2005
Max Winds: 45 kt/1002 mb

Lee formed from a strong frontal low north of Bermuda. After being stationary on the 15th, it became better organized and was upgraded to tropical depression 13 on the evening of the 16th. The system was a minimal 35 kt tropical storm by the morning of the 17th as it moved northeast at 7 mph. Lee reached his peak intensity of 45 kt/1002 mb on the afternoon of the 17th. The final advisory was written on Lee on the morning of the 18th.

Not really good with date and formation origin...but a weak ts fish.

Nevertheless, I blew my Katrina forecast bad...

Tropical Storm Katrina
October 5-6, 2005
Max Winds: 60 kt/990 mb
LANDFALL: Destin, FL at 55 kt/993 mb

Katrina developed from a tropical wave that moved off of Africa on the 29th of September, and an upper level low over the Gulf of Mexico. The system became organized, and Hurricane hunter aircraft found that the system had a closed center, and a 1003 mb pressure, and flight level winds of 42 kt. These factors allowed for the system to automatically be upgraded to Tropical Storm Katrina on the afternoon of October 5th, while 250 miles south of Destin, FL. Three hours later, Hurricane hunter's found 66 kt flight level winds, and a 990 mb pressure. They also found a 9 mile wide closed eyewall. Katrina's winds were increased to 60 kt. Katrina continued north at 8 mph, and made an early morning landfall near Destin, FL as a slightly weakened tropical storm on the 6th. The final advisory was written on Katrina later that evening.

Damage from Katrina was light.
